The Automotive Systems Division of Continental AG covers the full range of systems and, with uncompromising attention to quality, specializes in the development of innovative technologies for vehicle safety applications, comfort and powertrain as well as in the networking of active and passive driving safety systems.

The global presence of the Automotive Systems Division and its position as a leading partner for the international automotive industry has been significantly strengthened by the acquisition of the Motorola automotive electronics business, with effect from July 2006. The incorporation of the new business areas has expanded our product portfolio – but, most importantly, the numerous skilled employees at locations all around the globe represent a major enhancement of the development potential of the Division. We possess a unique technology pool for developing complex system solutions. In particular, the new area of telematics fits neatly into our strategy for the future with the aim of realizing an intelligent, communication-capable vehicle which, if possible, can completely prevent accidents or at least minimize the consequences of an accident both for the vehicle occupants and other road users.

We develop and produce electronic and hydraulic brake, stability and chassis control systems, electronic air suspension systems, engine management and transmission control systems, sensors, driver assistance systems, telematics, body and security electronics, hybrid drives, electric motors and radiator fans.

In 2006, the Automotive Systems Division can look back over 100 years of successful development work leading to progress in vehicle engineering. Our motto, "Forward Thinking" expresses our intention to continue to explore new aspects of automotive safety and driving pleasure.
