Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Ralf Cramer was born in Ludwigshafen, Germany, in 1966. He studied Mechanical Engineering in Kaiserlautern and at Stuttgart University, Germany, from which he graduated in 1990. He then took up a first position with the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation Stuttgart, Germany. In 1993, he was awarded a Doctor's degree for Automation Engineering by the University of Stuttgart.

Dr. Cramer has extensive experience in the automotive industry. In 1996, he joined ITT Automotive Europe, Frankfurt, Germany, as Executive Director for Industrial Engineering worldwide. In 1999, Dr. Cramer became General Manager of the Car InterMedia Systems division for Grundig AG Nuremburg, Germany.

Following Grundig AG, in 2002, Dr. Cramer joined the Automotive Systems Division of Continental as Senior Vice President of the Business Unit Electronics in Nuremberg, Germany.

In 2003, Ralf Cramer has been responsible for the Business Unit Electronic Brake & Safety Systems and Member of the Management Board within Continental Automotive Systems.

As President of the Continental Division Chassis & Safety, for which he took responsibility in December 2007, Dr. Cramer leads the Continental Division focused on integrating active and passive safety with driving dynamics and profound chassis know-how, overseeing the Business Units Electronic Brake Systems, Hydraulic Brake Systems, Sensorics, Passive Safety & ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and Chassis Components.

Dr. Ralf Cramer is married with two children. He is an enthusiastic skier and surfer, plays tennis and enjoys travelling.
