The production plant in Korbach, Germany, manufactures 14 million meters of brake hose annually. Latest technologies are used in the production processes: rubber extrusion, more than 70 braiding machines, autoclave or press vulcanization and automatic surface control. The assembly of the brake hoses is done in locations in Germany, Brazil and China. The plant in Gifhorn, Germany, assembles over 150,000 parts per day. A high degree of automation and sophisticated processes guarantee highest quality standards with 2 ppm delivery quality in 2006. The current brake hose generation Type 9 with it’s combination of EPDM inner and outer rubber with double layer PVA yarn offers a highest degree of dynamic strength, pressure and thermal resistance as well as chemical resistance to oil, fuel and all environmental impacts. Continental engineers with their deep expert knowledge can support, upon request, the routing of the brake hoses in the vehicle. Extensive test benches and laboratories are available for testing according to all customer specific requirements. Continental Automotive Systems as an international acknowledged brake system supplier is the only brake hose manufacturer worldwide with such competence and offers many years of experience in the total hydraulic brake system.
